St. Marys Carbon Accepts Sustainability & Good Business Practices Award

St. Marys Carbon (SMC) was presented with the Pennsylvania NASCAR Green/E3 Challenge Award. SMC was chosen for this award as a company that demonstrates “outstanding commitment to world-class business practices that align with sustainability while making the company profitable.” Bob Cotter, SMC’s VP of Operations, accepted the award on the company’s behalf. Shawn M. Garvin, EPA Regional Administrator, Brandon Igdalsky, President/CEO of Pocono Raceway, and Catherine Kummer, NASCAR’s Director of Green Innovation presented the award.

This award is part of the nationwide program, E3 – Economy, Energy, Environment, which combines the resources of six federal agencies with the intent of fostering sustainable manufacturing with action-oriented initiatives.
